Mapping the US aviation repair station market

A display manufacturer wanted to sell to aviation repair stations but had no list of who they are, how big they are or where they sit. The FAA publishes every certified repair station, and I turned that list into a market map the sales team could use.

From certificates to companies

The FAA list has 5,027 Part 145 certificates, and one company can hold several, at different sites and under slightly different names. Fuzzy name matching collapsed them into 3,663 unique companies, 420 of which hold more than one certificate. About 79% of certificates are in the United States.

Enrichment

Each company got its website (found for 3,361), firmographics from the Apollo API, and coordinates from geocoding. About 1,080 companies have a known parent revenue, with a median of $22.8 million. Everything sits in SQLite, so the list can be refreshed when the FAA updates its data.

What the sales team got

A ranked, mapped list of repair stations by size and region, ready to load into the CRM. The same pattern, public registry in and clean enriched companies out, now feeds the company knowledge graph.
