Geneva, Switzerland · danielnavarromadrinan@gmail.com · linkedin.com/in/daniel-navarro-madrinan · github.com/Daniel-Navarro-M · danielnavarro.work

Data scientist and data engineer working end to end, from data collection to decision-making. I combine applied machine learning (tree-based, time-series, clustering) and modern AI (RAG pipelines, vector and graph databases, LLMs) with production-minded pipelines in Python, SQL and AWS/Azure. I deliver business intelligence and analytics for private-sector clients and international organisations alike, and explain results clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Core competencies

Programming & ML: Python (pandas, scikit-learn), SQL, R/RStudio; supervised and unsupervised ML (tree-based, regression, clustering, time series: ARIMA, XGBoost, NARX), deep learning.

Applied AI & RAG: RAG pipelines, vector and graph databases, embeddings, semantic search, LLMs (Hugging Face, Docker Model Runner), NLP, automated report generation, agentic coding with Claude Code.

Data engineering & cloud: ETL pipelines, web scraping, REST APIs, data architecture (ERDs, schemas); AWS, Azure, Docker, PostgreSQL, SQLite.

BI, visualisation & GIS: Preset, Power BI, Dash, Plotly, custom CRMs; QGIS, GeoJSON, Copernicus/Sentinel satellite data.

Quantitative policy & research: impact evaluation (R), causal inference (TWFE, event studies), regression and comparative analysis, procurement analytics, discourse NLP.

Professional experience

Data Engineer & BI Consultant

Jul 2025 – present

Instrumental Partners LLC · Geneva (remote)

  • Built an AI RAG and graph knowledge base and automated report generation over 1M+ procurement records (8k+ competitors) for manufacturing and security-sector clients.
  • Engineered Python web-scraping, API and ETL pipelines; applied ML for pricing and bidding recommendations and Apollo API enrichment in a custom CRM.
  • Designed data architectures (ERDs, schemas, user flows) and BI dashboards (Preset, SQLite).

Information Management Intern

Jun 2026 – present

UN OCHA · Geneva

  • Built an automated AI report-generation system (not a chatbot) that turns news and API data into a fact and relationship graph of events, people and organisations to produce grounded humanitarian reports.
  • Released a Docker-containerised UI for Azure; trained country offices on RAG and LLM reporting.
  • Supported crisis reporting and needs analysis during earthquake responses, including mapping populated areas to find overlooked populations.

Researcher, Educational Inequality (TIMSS)

Sep 2025 – May 2026

World Bank / CEU · Vienna

  • Led the CEU research workstream and liaised with World Bank counterparts on methodology and deliverables.
  • Cleaned and merged large-scale TIMSS data; ran regression-based and comparative regional analysis with reproducible methodology.
